If you are looking for an experienced & enthusiastic celebrant who loves creating one of a kind, meaningful ceremonies that put your story at the heart of the celebration, I can help!
Our stories are all unique & deserve to be celebrated so. By getting to know you. I will create a ceremony that reflects you, your loves, likes, passions and personalities.
I have always loved writing & following a major career think, trained as a celebrant in 2015. Since then I have met some amazing people & conducted ceremonies in many fabulous locations around Lancashire & beyond.
Celebrants are not just ceremony writers we are story tellers of life. I would love to tell yours!
What's my ceremony style?
I enjoy designing relaxed, romantic and meaningful ceremonies that give tradition a bit of a shake up! And they can never be described as stuffy or boring!
The path to your ceremony will be fun and full of laughter.
I love to include symbolic elements such as hand fasting & candle lighting as well as involving friends and family (yours not mine!) Your dog as ringbearer, definitely. Singalong or a conga, no problem? Vodka shots or jaegarbombs in the ceremony? Yes you can!
In fact I`ve never yet said “you can`t do that !”
I bring experience, bags of enthusiasm and due to my southern roots, an accent that is neither northern or southern!
Whatever the vision for your ceremony, it`s YOUR story that will be at the heart of the ceremony.

What do I offer?
Weddings
It should come as no surprise that I love weddings and believe passionately in the choice to celebrate your marriage in a way that truly reflects you as a couple!
I love to create informal, fun and laughter filled ceremonies that focus on your love story. No copied scripts using the same words repeated in thousands of ceremonies but words that are carefully chosen and beautifully scripted just for you!
I enjoy working with couples who want something different, who aren`t afraid to think out of the box and who are happy to share their story, ups and downs, trials and triumphs!
I have worked in some amazing and diverse venues but particularly love the romantic setting of candle lit barn or tipi and weather permitting an open field with hay bales and bunting!
From the initial booking and meeting to the day of the ceremony, I`m there for you!
I`ll be there to offer suggestions, answer questions, help with vows & readings and always to reassure you if it all gets a bit much
I will arrange a venue visit, especially if it`s new to me and I am happy to meet up with you as many times as you want. (love a good coffee!)
I only book one ceremony per day so there is no danger of me being delayed at one wedding or dashing off to another. On the day, I arrive at least an hour early so I can check everything is as planned and welcome your guests. And I will stay for a while after the ceremony.
Finally, I leave you with a boxed presentation copy of your ceremony script, any readings or vow booklets plus the handfasting ribbons if you have chosen to include that.

Naming Ceremonies
The safe arrival of a new baby or welcoming adopted / step children into the family is always a reason to celebrate and if a religious christening is not for you then a celebrant led naming ceremony could be the perfect alternative.
A wonderful opportunity to introduce them to your friends & family, it can be held anywhere, a hired venue, your home, even your garden.
I will help you create a magical ceremony that reflects your beliefs, your values as a family & your hopes for your child`s future.
It can be simple, fun or include more spiritual elements. You may wish to include tree planting, candle lighting or time capsule among other ideas.
You can appoint guardians, guide parents or odd parents who will play a special role in your child`s upbringing. Their promises will be unique & from the heart.
Why not have a theme eg Mad Hatter`s tea party or Teddy Bear`s picnic?

Renewal of Vows
Have you reached a milestone anniversary and want to celebrate your time together?
Maybe you have come through a tough and challenging time and want to reaffirm your love and commitment to one another.
Perhaps you didn`t get your ideal wedding ceremony first time round.
Or maybe you just want to do it all again and celebrate the years you have had together.
Whatever the reasons a vow renewal ceremony can be a very a special and emotional occasion.
As a celebrant, writing a vow renewal ceremony involves as much input, research and love as a wedding & to me just as important!
I will meet with you and listen to your story, your life so far, your ups & downs , what you love about each other (and what drives you mad!) and why it is important to you to renew your vows & promises.
The ceremony is very similar to a wedding with music & readings & the all important vows. You may like to exchange new rings or jewellery or include symbolic elements such as handfasting, sand ceremony or unity candle.
You can include children, stepchildren or even pets! It can be whatever you wish, there are no rules!

Funerals
It has been an absolute privilege to have been officiating funerals & celebrations of life for over five years. Our lives all tell a different story and I believe that our final goodbye should reflect that story, our beliefs & above all our personality. Choosing me as your celebrant to write & conduct a funeral means your wishes & those of your loved one are of the utmost importance.
I will meet with you & your family & listen. Listen to your stories & memories, gathering as much detail as possible to ensure the occasion is deserving of the person whose life we are celebrating. Funny stories, what made them laugh, even those annoying habits! Favourite music, poems, readings & artists can all be woven into a truly personal celebration.

I believe a funeral should be a celebration of life, however long that life, however brief. A funeral itself cannot prevent the sense of loss or grief but the right funeral can help that process begin.

Such a lovely service for my Grandad x
Amanda was just the perfect choice for my Grandads funeral. She has been a friend of the family for over 30 years and in his final instructions for his funeral were to have Amanda leading the service. The words she said really were beautiful and the service was everything we wanted and more. I would highly recommend Amanda for funerals, weddings or any family celebrations.
A Day of a Lifetime
The ceromony was perfect. Amanda listened carefully to what we had asked for and blended professionalism with natural warmth. Amanda’s oratory was clear, sincere and well researched. Amanda brought a magic touch to the event both outside during the ceremony and inside at the reception. It was a perfect day. Richard: groom.
Our Waterfall Wedding
Amanda performed a heartfelt and beautiful ceremony for us at our dream location of Janet’s Foss.From start to finish Amanda’s professionalism, passion and genuine love for what she does shone through. A truly personalised ceremony full of love, laughter and gorgeous wording, we will never forget how much magic Amanda brought to our special day. Nothing was too much, even with it being a wild rainy outdoor wedding in October! Our three children were hugely included in the ceremony and Amanda even had them help make our hand fasting cord with her which was beyond special. It hangs proudly in our front room laced with memories and happiness.We couldn’t recommend Amanda enough, our wedding wouldn’t have been the same without her leading it. Thank you Amanda!
