My wife Jen is currently living in the USA and I am still in the UK which created some obvious challenges when planning a wedding ceremony. We were looking for an independent celebrant who would be able to work with us, via Skype to make our day as special as could be. Thankfully we were directed to enquire with Gaynor Stickels and tentatively made an initial telephone call to field whether Gaynor would be a good fit for us. Thank God we did.
Gaynor is an absolute professional. From the first telephone call, to the various Skype meetings, Gaynor was always available to field my e-mails or text messages querying aspects. This is a lady who has her stuff together. Gaynor took all the stress and burden of arranging an international ceremony and tailored her approach to fit in with our needs and was incredibly organised, willing and kept us on track. Gaynor provided so many inspiring ideas and shared her experiences with us and created the most wonderful service.
Gaynor drafted a wedding script for us, and it was beautiful. I didn’t appreciate the amount of work required going into meeting the couple, understanding their story, and then writing a script which would be suitable. The script we received was made with love and an abundance of care and attention. This again removed more anxiety as we knew we were in good hands.
On the day itself, Gaynor arrived in good time and introduced us to her husband who acted as the music fader. This took away another element of stress and worked like a dream. The ceremony went so well and everyone remarked how it was the highlight. It was delivered with humour in the right places, and she did us proud.
If you are looking for a positive, delightful and professional celebrant for your event, pick up the phone and have an initial call. She really set the benchmark high for us and we would happily recommend her onto our friends and families who have events in the future.
Gaynor, thank you for making our day so special, we truly appreciate all that you did for us.

Gaynor was our celebrant for our wedding 06/07/2019, From the moment we met we knew she was the one who could make our special day ours! She listened carefully to what we wanted and researched and came up with the exact kind of ceremony we wanted. helped us with song choices, practiced tying knots with us, didn't flinch when we changed readings...
She calmed my now husband down when he got nervous, even had a plan for when he was waiting for me to keep him occupied!
Our ceremony was supposed to be outside for all of it but the rain gods decided to celebrate too and Gaynor delivered the ceremony introduction then got everyone inside the Tipi Marquees for the remainder, she made it so cosy and intimate and delivered the ceremony faultlessly. I recommend Gaynor 110% .....Her partner and soundman also took some cracking photo's which we've added to our album! Thank you Gaynor from the bottom our hearts xxx

Gaynor was amazing from start to finish. Listened to everything we wanted and made beautiful suggestions of her own . Contact was kept throughout and we were given scripts of the ceremony to oversee beforehand. The day was brilliant with Gaynor delivering a confident, yet emotional ceremony. There wasn't a dry eye in the house. Such a personal experience which all the guests raved about. Highly recommend! <3
It really was such an honour to work with you and the boys, they were fantastic!

Gaynor was just wonderful to work with, from start to finish. She did an amazing job, especially considering we live in Australia, so everything had to be done over email and Skype! Gaynor wrote a beautiful ceremony, which was heartfelt, funny and really reflected who we are as people and as a couple. On the day, Gaynor was so professional, warm and friendly - I got very choked up during my vows, but she just gently encouraged me to take my time and offered me a tissue. Gaynor has a beautiful way with people - we're so happy we chose her!

It was an absolute joy to lead this Biker/W.I. mash up wedding ceremony, so much symbolism. Sunflowers for the grooms Ukranian heritage, a Jack Daniels Blending Ceremony and the Bride arrived on a bike, to a herald of roaring motorbikes and she was whisked back up th aisle on her husband's Harley Davidson!

Many many thanks to Gaynor for all of her hard work in putting together and taking our ceremony. Many people commented on how lovely it was to have something different from the normal type of registry ceremony. Gaynor was very easy to work with, sent lots of ideas to help and was always willing to accommodate when we changed music or wanted something a little out of the ordinary with the music selections. We would definitely recommend Gaynor's services to anybody who is looking for something a little different in a ceremony.
Many thanks once again for all your hard work (and also your rodeo husband too).

Huge thank you to Gaynor for leading our wedding ceremony at short notice. Unfortunately the celebrant we had originally booked was unable to attend due to a family emergency but Gaynor stepped in last minute and you would not know that she had just picked things up at short notice. We trusted Gaynor as soon as we spoke to her on the phone. Perfect balance of sincerity and humour for our slightly unusual ceremony. Thank you Gaynor!
Thank you so much for your kind words. As a Celebrant, t is a situation that we hope we never find ourselves in, but through The Celebrant Directory, we know we can call on other experienced and skilled clebrants to step into the breach if need. It was testament to Angie's ceremony creating that I could deliver it with ease.
Thank you for making me feel so welcome.

We just want to say thank you so much for the care and attention you put into Dad's funeral. So many people said what a wonderful service it was. So many happy memories and tears, but I think we did him proud. Thank you!
Shared from an email from the family of a wonderfully warm and funny man, who was completely devoted to his family.

Coming from religious families but not being religious ourselves, we decided to hold a Naming Ceremony for our son to celebrate his arrival into our family, instead of the more traditional Christening.
Gaynor worked so hard with us to create a personal, moving and completely perfect ceremony. Gaynors wonderful manner in delivering the ceremony, and the script that she put together for it touched everyone, and there wasn't a dry eye in the house by the end of it! It was over a month ago and people are still taking about what a special day it was.
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Gaynor, and hope to have future occasion to work with her again!
Thank you so much Sophie & Marie. It was such a fantastic family day and a pleasure to be a part of. You all made me feel so welcome!

Thank you on behalf of my family for your excellent presentation and control of the service. Many commented at the wake on how well it was presented and executed by yourself.
Our Father was a remarkable man.
Many thanks again.

Sedgebrook Hall, Northampton | April 2018
Thanks to Gaynor we had an absolutely wonderful celebration. Not only did she listen intently to the story of our relationship so was then able to offer fantastic suggestions for our ceremony to personalise it but on the day she also added extra little references to our family and friends which enhanced the whole occasion. She is a lovely and empathetic person and you could see that she was totally ‘in the moment’ with us which was very moving.

We feel so blessed to have chosen Gaynor to deliver our handfasting ceremony because she helped to make it absolutely perfect for us. I have read the other reviews and Gaynor's own page and agree wholeheartedly with every word said, she is indeed empathetic, highly professional, caring, sensitive with a great sense of humour that helped to put us at ease, as well as our guests on the day, including our 5yr old flower girl who really hit it off with Gaynor. For the occasion, the balance was just right, reflecting the seriousness of our handfasting with a good dose of fun along the way! The whole experience from the first tentative email was stress free, supportive and encouraging. Gaynor is a very good listener and communicator of ideas and was able to turn our ideas into reality for which we cant thank her enough.

I have deliberated long and hard of a fitting review of your services! Here it is...My heart broke open once again when I lost one of many of my soulmates; Jamie Giltrap. I wanted so much to do him proud. I wanted him to know he was loved in this life and his body of musical work was held in high esteem. I wanted to express the depth of this loss. Gaynor listened to me for 3 hours 'rattle' on and retell many an amusing story of our love. She wanted to know every detail of his human life on Earth. This was reflected in the beautiful service dedicated in his memory. Gaynor captured many a fabel told about him in her service. She really listened to my aching heart and did him a beautiful justice in retelling the beautiful events of his short life. She accomodated the natural upset and was kind, empathic and had a genuine 'heartfelt' response. Many people approached me after the ceremony from all walks of life to say what a beautiful ceremony it was, different, personable and fitting to such a kind and gentle man. The support has been ongoing and I am truly grateful for her friendship, integrity, knowing. The funeral will now be etched upon the minds and hearts of all that attended. Thank you
Karen has given me permission to post this testimonial on her behalf. As a friend, it was truely and honour to be able to do this ceremony for her beloved husband and father to their young son.
Coventry | December 2017
Gaynor did an amazing job at organizing a evening for our forgotten pets at our rescue, every little detail was checked before hand. It was thoughtful, sensitive and full of tears and the occasional laugh. She gave the whole evening a relaxed and loving vibe and will be asking her back again next year
Thank you Lorraine and David for your very kind testimonial. I am looking forward to what I hope will be a regualr event for you. The work that you and your staff do at RSPCA Coventry & Nuneaton Branch, is fantastic and the the new families that adopt and foster these pets are true angels. xx
