Fellowship of professional celebrants
Halifax | August 2017
When we lost our beloved daughter Daisy suddenly we had no idea how we would ever get through her funeral....I could not even bear to start to organise and think about it.
We were then put in touch with the amazing Vanessa via a mutual friend and everything changed in the blink of an eyelid.
Vanessa came to the Children's Hospice where we were all staying with Daisy and we sat for hours talking about Daisy, our other children, Daisy's twin brother and all the things that we remembered so fondly about Daisy during her short life.
The moment we met Vanessa we knew instantly she was the celebrant we wanted to tailor make Daisy's funeral into the unique celebration of life that we wanted. I explained to Vanessa I didn't want a traditional funeral, Daisy was unique and I wanted her day to be something we would remember in a positive, happy way rather it be a sad occasion.
We wanted the ceremony and buriel to be as child friendly as it possibly could be due to our other children being quite young.
Vanessa explained we could have and do what we wanted and she would make the service exactly how we wanted it to be and would help us with ideas as we were really struggling.
Vanessa took on board our desires and ideas and she went away to pull it all together.
Communication between Vanessa and ourselves was brilliant, she put all her ideas to us and it was like she just knew us...Daisy and our family! She was spot on with everything...I'm sure she secretly knew Daisy!
What we anticipated to be the worst day of our lives actually turned out to be very special and one we will remember forever due to Vanessa and the amazing services she did for Daisy, we laughed, shed tears, sang and blew bubbles as we remembered Daisy.
Daisy rode her final journey in a carriage pulled by two white horses, we released Doves at her graveside and sprinkled glitter onto her "special box"
Vanessa's words, poems and readings were perfect...down to the very fine detail.
Vanessa did Daisy and us so proud that day, I could not have asked for a better ceremony.
All our family and friends commented on what a beautiful, unique and personalised ceremony it was, no one had ever been to a funeral like Daisy's....in a barn, sat on hay bales, with the barn decorated in Daisy's memory.
We would highly recommend Vanessa to anyone wanting a celebrant, for a bespoke ceremony, tailored personally to your requirements, Vanessa will not fail to provide you with exactly what you want.
Such a lovely lady, who is very empathetic and wants to make your day as special as she possibly can do..
Thank you Vanessa for everything xx
Always in my heart - a very special day. X Thank you for your very kind words.

Following the stillbirth of our son Noah we were put in touch with Vanessa and we couldn't have asked for a better celebrant.
Noahs service was absolutely beautiful and everyone who attended commented how moving and emotional it was. Vanessa absolutely blew us away with all the information she'd taken in during our initial meeting. She was so kind and compassionate from start to finish and we'll be forever grateful for the beautiful send off she provided for our baby boy. We believe the service will be a real comfort to Noah's twin sister Maddison when the time comes to tell her about Noah, just as it has been for us during our grieving period.
We cannot rate Vanessa highly enough and I would urge anyone looking for a celebrant to use Vanessa. Thank you so much Vanessa!
Thank you Leanne, as you know you are always in my thoughts. You are an amazing family who I will never forget x

As a funeral celebrant I am empathetic and kind. I understand grief and how to help families along their path of grief.
As a wedding celebrant
I can conduct an outdoor wedding ceremony in your home or garden, in a field, on a cliff, in the sunset on an island far away. Your wedding ceremony can be at any indoor venue too, a theatre, stately home…No where is out of the question.
Are you unimpressed with the traditional mass-produced wedding, where the same words for every couple are simply read from a book?
I create unique weddings, this will be a ceremony which captures your story, your love, your journey, and your path into the future. Each ceremony is individually written for each couple and will be totally unique to any other service.
Do you want a ceremony that expresses your love and commitment to each other in a totally unique, personalised and meaningful way?
I can help you choose music, songs, hymns, readings and poetry. Your vows are your commitment and can be written by yourselves or with my help. We can add symbolic elements to your ceremony such as hand fasting, jumping the broom and blending of sands.
